Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City of Huntsville will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the newly remodeled Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, at 310 MLK Drive. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10.

The City of Huntsville broke ground on the rebuild of the facility Monday, Aug. 29, 2022. City officials and community members gathered at the site in August, with Mayor Andy Brauninger and City Manager Aron Kulhavy saying the project was a testament to the tenacity and teamwork of all involved.

The building that was gutted and rebuilt was known as the “rec center” and the site of numerous celebrations for generations of Huntsville residents.
